DAWSON WISSMACH ARCHITECTS is a young, dynamic, energetic, 18-person design firm located on the Factor’s Walk in historic downtown Savannah. The firm was founded in the Spring of 1999 by principals Neil Dawson and Richard K. Wissmach. DWA is organized into a studio structure and operates by collaboration. We are proud to have a diverse mix of people representing many cultures, experiences and skills.
Trained in both classical architecture and contemporary design, DWA designers are committed to location-appropriate designs that have a memory of their cultural past. This commitment leads them to study the architectural traditions of areas in which they work — from Savannah and nearby South Carolina locations to special places across the southeast. Firm members have an in-depth understanding of the nuances that define Southern architecture and use those nuances to create differentiated designs.
